After WWII, America became the most powerful nation on the planet. Productivity exploded, as our economy was flush with money and a growing demand for houses, cars, and all sorts of consumer goods. The returning war veterans married, settled down and created "The Baby Boomer Generation." These new parents wanted a calm, prosperous lifestyle for their children to grow up in, and the created the new idea of "The American Dream." This dream included two kids (a boy and a girl), a nice tidy house with a garden, a sparkling kitchen for mom, a woodshop for dad, and a shiny new car in the driveway- all surrounded by a white picket fence of course. This was the new "American Dream"
